A group of us at Crawford Merz got our hands dirty, but this time it was in a garden rather than at a job site. We volunteered with Urban Roots, a St. Paul based non-profit whose mission is to cultivate and empower youth through nature, healthy food, and community. One of the ways Urban Roots supports its mission is through community gardens. For this volunteer event, our team was able to help prepare one of their six community gardens for the planting season by weeding, preparing the irrigation system, and planting lots of tomatoes and peppers.
